Milia are a type of cyst that occurs when keratin accumulates in hair follicles or sweat glands inside the skin, and are a separate disease from warts in terms of their causative factors. Although there is no specific cause, the number of young women developing milia due to cosmetic residue blocking the pores is increasing recently. Blackheads are a type of clogged pores that occur when excessive sebum, residue, and dead skin cells combine on the inner wall of the pore, and this mixture is deposited on the surface of the skin. As they reach the openings of the pores, they are oxidized and turn black. Warts are a disease in which growths of the skin and mucous membranes occur due to human papilloma virus infection. Warts are caused by infection with the human papilloma virus. Lesions caused by warts usually appear in the form of papules or plaques with a rough, raised surface. As age spots usually occur, the cell layer that makes up the epidermis thickens, and the color itself darkens. In addition, the skin becomes damaged due to the protective effect of ultraviolet rays, etc. As the melanin pigment that makes skin look black is secreted excessively, it accumulates in the skin and causes age spots, whose official name is ‘seborrheic keratosis’.
